Before heading to Las Vegas this week for SAP TechEd, I have had to take my bride to the hospital. It was for one of those common check up type procedures that we have to get from time to time. As I sit here, patiently waiting, I started to think of the importance of health checks more broadly.
Health check your SAP change control processes
As my mind continued to wander in the bleak waiting room, it moved off the personal and onto the professional. I found myself considering the importance of a health check across other areas one might be involved in. Believe it or not, SAP change management processes came to mind.
We all know that once a change management process is in place, no matter how bad it is, we tend to let it ride far too long without giving the process a good and thorough checkup. We are busy and so if it doesn’t look broken, why fix it? Although this might have been OK in the past, its not OK any longer. Things are different. Business expectations have changed, methodologies are evolving and the goal posts are shifting.
The status quo of antiquated manual processes will lead to bad outcomes for your overall SAP system health and must be challenged from time to time. Process related, preventable out of sequence transport deployments will affect overall system health too.
Identify ill health and apply a remedy
While you’re at SAP TechEd this week, stop by booth #405. Chat with us at Revelation Software Concepts (RSC) about the state of health of your SAP change control processes. RSC is completely focused on SAP change control automation and have a remedy to greatly improve their general wellness.
Don’t worry about us breaking out the rubber gloves in readiness for a serious heath check, but you can expect to gain some major insights into how healthy (or not) your current processes might be. Expect too to hear how RSC’s powerful SAP DevOps Automation Platform, Rev-Trac, can help your team meet changing business expectations, facilitate evolving change (and development) process methodologies and enable the flexibility needed as the goal posts move.
