The Rev-Trac team is back from SAP ALM Summit APAC 2026 – and we came away with a clear picture of what’s on SAP customers’ minds right now. Between booth conversations, keynote sessions, and hallway chats, we heard where they’re heading, what’s keeping them up at night, and where they see tools like Rev-Trac fitting into the puzzle.
Here’s what Damien Markwell, Commercial Director of EMEA & APAC, Achana Kumari, Consultant Operations Admin, and Davis David, Software Engineer, brought back from the floor.
AI was everywhere
No surprises here: AI dominated the conversation. SAP’s Joule announcement landed on day one during the keynote, and it set the tone for everything that followed.
“SAP is concentrating heavily on AI,” said Archana. “Joule is already integrated into SAP for Me, and it was announced to be included in Cloud ALM too. The interest from delegates was huge. Many were asking how Rev-Trac is planning to use AI or Joule.”
Davis echoed this, noting that AI’s integration with Cloud ALM was a standout; particularly the ability to conversationally create requirements, test cases, and more. Damien summed up the mood well: “AI was a dominant theme throughout the tradeshow. Attendees expressed optimism about where AI could take them, tempered with some caution.”
The interest is real, and so are the questions about how to make it work in practice. People aren’t asking if AI will change ALM – they’re asking how fast and how well.
As Joule extends what SAP teams can do and how fast they can do it, the stakes on governance only go up. When AI starts driving more change, strong change and deployment governance becomes more critical than ever, not less. That’s the space Rev-Trac has always played in, and it’s exactly where this next chapter of SAP is heading.
Cloud ALM’s momentum is building and so is the conversation around it
A recurring thread across all three was the state of SAP Cloud ALM. SAP is adding features at pace and SAP Cloud ALM has come a long way. Davis observed that Cloud ALM sessions at the summit were heavily focused on showcasing AI capabilities across the platform.
At the same time, customers are looking for ways to get even more value from Cloud ALM in complex, real-world environments.
As Archana put it, “the need to extend Cloud ALM’s capabilities remains the same.” Davis saw this firsthand – delegates with complex landscapes and specific business requirements were keen to understand what becomes possible when Rev-Trac runs alongside Cloud ALM.
Damien heard the same thing from a different angle. “Most SAP customers approached us wanting a clearer understanding of how Rev-Trac extends Cloud ALM’s functionality,” he said. Delegates are committed to Cloud ALM and they’re looking at how the right partners can enhance what it delivers.
For a growing number of organizations, Cloud ALM is the SAP change and deployment management tool, with SAP investing in it at real pace. What we heard at the summit was about how to get even more from that investment in complex or highly regulated environments. That’s exactly where SAP’s own Cloud ALM change and deployment strategy points to us, and it’s the space Rev-Trac is built for.
ChaRM End-of-Life is top of mind
With ChaRM and Solution Manager approaching end of life, organizations are actively looking for what comes next. Archana flagged this as a major theme: “There’s lots of interest in the EOL of ChaRM and SolMan.”
Organizations aren’t just looking for a replacement. They are taking the opportunity to rethink how they manage change across increasingly complex environments. Damien saw this playing out at the booth: “Delegates kept coming back to the same three things – how Rev-Trac assists Cloud ALM with retrofit, how it supports regulated GxP environments, and how it handles complex landscapes. They’re not just replacing ChaRM – they’re rethinking the whole approach.”
Organizations are discussing a few clear paths: move to SAP Cloud ALM, take a best-of-breed approach, or extend current tooling a little longer. There’s no single right answer – it depends on landscape complexity and regulatory needs. Whichever path an organization takes, Rev-Trac supports their change management requirements.
What delegates asked us
Yes – through what we call functional retrofit, which automatically captures the business requirement, moves it into the S/4HANA environment, and removes incompatible transports, all without manual intervention.
Rev-Trac gives regulated organizations the automation and governance that regulated organizations need – support for electronic signatures, full traceability, and compliant workflows – so they can modernize onto Cloud ALM without compromising their regulatory obligations.
It was a recurring question: Damien fielded it repeatedly from Systems Integrators, with specific follow-ups on electronic signatures and CFR Part 11, and Davis counted three or four pharma delegates raising it independently.
Yes – by applying controls, validation, and quality checks earlier in the lifecycle, Rev-Trac enables a shift-left approach to continuous integration. That reduces rework, improves delivery flow, and helps teams move large volumes of change more safely and efficiently. This matters more than ever for organizations that want to move faster – turning change delivery into a competitive edge, not a bottleneck.
Rev-Trac acts as the single source of truth for all SAP changes, unifying environments across the transformation with automated checks for a smooth transition – integrating alongside RISE and tools like Jira and qTest rather than replacing them.
One moment felt particularly telling: Davis reported that many developers who’d used Rev-Trac at previous organizations were now asking how to bring it into their current workplace.
What we’re taking away
If we had to distil the summit into one observation, it’s this: the SAP landscape isn’t just changing – it’s changing on four fronts at once. ChaRM is winding down, Cloud ALM is maturing fast, AI is reshaping what “change management” even means, and S/4HANA migrations are forcing every governance model to be rebuilt. That’s a lot of transition to navigate at the same time, and it’s exactly why organizations are looking for partners who don’t just adapt to that shift but help them get ahead of it.
That conversation we kept having out booth wasn’t, “what does Rev-Trac do?”. It was, “how do we make this transition work for us?” Extending Cloud ALM. Simplifying complex landscapes. Supporting regulated industries. That focus keeps landing where it matters most: with the people doing the work.
As Damien puts it: “There was strong interest in how Rev-Trac extends Cloud ALM’s capabilities – and real appetite to get ahead of where this is all heading.”
