SAP transformation isn’t a one-off project anymore – it’s continuous, with overlapping changes running across systems, teams, and business priorities all at once. That shift was front and center at SNP Transformation World 2026. Four members of the Rev-Trac team were on the ground, presenting, hosting conversations at the stand, and listening to what SAP customers are really thinking.
Here is what they brought back.
Speed vs Risk: The unspoken trade-off
Chris Drake, Head of Rev-Trac, and Fritz Mosonyi, EMEA Director of Customer Success at Rev-Trac, co-presented a session on driving successful SAP transformation with modern change control and deployment automation. But the insight that stuck with Chris didn’t come from the stage.
“The thing that stuck with me wasn’t any keynote,” Chris said. “It was how often the same trade-off came up in normal conversation: everyone is being pushed to move faster on SAP, and nobody wants to be the person who broke production doing it.”
It was a theme that ran throughout the entire event. A transformation is no longer something organizations complete and move on from. S/4HANA adoption, clean core, Cloud ALM, AI, business change, and landscape modernization increasingly run in parallel – often across live systems that can’t afford disruption. Speed alone is not enough. Organizations need stronger control over change, deployment, governance, and release risk.
The goal is not to slow delivery down. It is to reduce risk earlier, improve release confidence, and move through transformation with greater certainty. The platform layer that makes it safe is the layer that matters most. Ongoing change needs to become safer, more repeatable, and easier to govern.
Rev-Trac addressed this in their presentation, defining three practical principles for SAP teams – principles that resonated throughout the event.
- Validate change earlier – catch issues before they reach the systems that run the business.
- Eliminate duplicated effort – stop repeating the same build, test, and approval lifecycle across parallel landscapes.
- Automate deployment governance – so control does not depend on manual coordination or individual heroics.
These aren’t just ideas. AI Changed the Conversation – But Not the Way You Think
AI came up constantly at SNP Transformation World, but not the way it does on stage. Off stage, the question was more anxious: fine, the code writes itself now – who is checking it before it lands in production?
Software teams outside SAP answered that question years ago. You do not slow down to stay safe. You build the checks into the pipeline so that speed and control stop being a trade-off. SAP is now having that same realization, and you could feel it in the room.
Alexander Kastner, Regional Sales Director DACH + Nordics at Rev-Trac, picked up on the same tension from conversations on the stand and the micro forum session. While many discussions around AI focused on use cases and possibilities, Chris and Fritz emphasized a different angle: the real differentiator will not be which organizations adopt AI first, but how they maintain control, auditability, and compliance as AI-driven change accelerates. The feedback on Rev-Trac’s CTP approach was exceptionally strong precisely because it addresses this challenge: enabling speed without losing governance.
Fritz identified three broader AI themes that emerged consistently across day two:
- AI readiness starts with the data foundation. Organizations need to understand, govern, and unlock not just structured SAP data, but unstructured enterprise data if they want AI initiatives to deliver meaningful results.
- There is no one-size-fits-all transformation model. From complex carve-outs to S/4HANA programmes, every transformation follows a different path. What remains consistent is the need to move quickly while maintaining control, business continuity, and confidence throughout execution.
- AI must move from strategy to measurable value. The focus is shifting from experimentation and isolated pilots toward practical use cases, trusted data, and measurable business outcomes. AI value depends on how effectively organizations can operationalise and govern change.
The thread connecting all three themes was governance. AI will accelerate the volume and velocity of change across SAP landscapes. Without embedded governance – the kind Rev-Trac delivers through automated validation, transport control, and deployment orchestration – organizations risk losing visibility into what changed, when, and why.
Transformation and BAU are the same problem now
Elfat Hasani, Sales and Marketing Assistant EMEA, spent the event in direct conversation with customers at the Rev-Trac stand. A recurring theme was how organizations are approaching SAP Cloud ERP adoption – and specifically, how to complement it with additional change governance, transport control, and deployment orchestration capabilities to meet their specific operational requirements.
Every organization is at a different stage, facing different constraints, and managing different combinations of on-prem, Cloud, and hybrid landscapes. But the common thread was clear: organizations are no longer managing one isolated transformation project. They are navigating several overlapping changes across systems, teams, and business priorities. It’s becoming clear that what organizations need is a governed platform for continuous change and transformation.
According to Alexander, the notion that SAP transformation is no longer a project with a defined start and end dominated conversations. Once an S/4HANA program is complete, the next wave is already underway – AI adoption, business innovation, Cloud services, regulatory requirements, acquisitions, security updates, clean core initiatives, and continuous SAP releases. The organizations that succeed will not be those that deliver one successful transformation, but those that establish a continuous change operating model.
Fritz’s key takeaway cut to the heart of it: transformation and business-as-usual change can no longer be treated as separate worlds. Customers are simultaneously modernizing their SAP landscapes, maintaining production stability, and responding to new business requirements. That makes early validation, automated governance, and reliable cross-landscape deployment essential – not optional.
The objective is not simply to complete one transformation project. It is to establish a delivery model that continues to work after go-live — one governed process for SAP change across BAU, transformation, and the new operating model that follows.
