Before heading to Las Vegas this week for SAP TechEd, I have had to take my bride to the hospital. It was for one of those common check up type procedures that we have to get from time to time. As I sit here, patiently waiting, I started to think of the importance of health checks more broadly.

As my mind continued to wander in the bleak waiting room, it moved off the personal and onto the professional. I found myself considering the importance of a health check across other areas one might be involved in. Believe it or not, SAP change management processes came to mind.
We all know that once a change management process is in place, no matter how bad it is, we tend to let it ride far too long without giving the process a good and thorough checkup. We are busy and so if it doesn’t look broken, why fix it? Although this might have been OK in the past, its not OK any longer. Things are different.
